春の特別公開のご案内

時間：9時〜17時（最終受付 16時30分）
拝観料：1,000円

境内ではツツジが彩りを添え、新緑が美しく広がる季節を迎えております。

本年の春の特別公開では、竹の間の一部、通常は非公開としている部屋を特別に公開いたします。
また、特別公開期間中に限り、通常は撮影をご遠慮いただいている竹の間および大書院内の一部場所において、撮影していただけます。

春の光に包まれる堂内と庭園の趣を、この機会にどうぞごゆっくりご覧ください。

Admission: ¥1,000

During this season, azaleas come into bloom and the temple grounds are filled with fresh spring greenery.

For this year's Spring Special Viewing, a section of the Bamboo Room that is ordinarily closed to the public will be specially opened.

In addition, for a limited time during the special viewing period, photography—normally restricted—will be permitted in designated areas within the Bamboo Room and the Great Shoin.

We warmly invite you to experience the refined atmosphere of Manshuin Monzeki in spring.

竹の間

江戸時代の木版画(唐紙)による襖絵。
大玄関内部にある竹の間の襖には、竹と雲の模様をあしらった唐紙が使われている。一見、手描きされた竹のように見えるが、実は木版画による印刷である。竹と雲の意匠は、当院の名「竹内門跡」にちなむものといわれる。この技法は、日本における最初期の木版唐紙として知られる。

Take-no-ma (The Bamboo Room)

The fusuma sliding doors in the Take-no-ma room, located within the Great Entrance, feature wallpaper adorned with patterns of bamboo and clouds.

At first glance, this wallpaper appears to be hand-painted, but it is in fact produced through woodblock printing during the Edo period.

The motif of bamboo and clouds is said to derive from the temple's historical name, "Takenouchi Monzeki."
This technique is known as one of the earliest surviving examples of woodblock-printed decorative paper in Japan.
